UIR Welcomes International Students from 17 Countries for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) has welcomed international students from 17 different countries for the 2025/2026 academic year, as part of its efforts to realize its vision of becoming a World Class Islamic University.

The international student admission process was conducted through a strict selection involving checks on immigration documents, academic records, and interviews carried out by the Office of International Cooperation and Affairs (BKUI) together with the Directorate of Student and Academic Services at UIR.

Students accepted come from a diverse range of countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, and others — totaling students from 17 nations.

With this intake, UIR currently has 115 active full-time international students enrolled across 45 study programs, from undergraduate to postgraduate and doctoral levels.

This international enrollment underscores UIR’s commitment to education quality and global relevance, enriching the academic community and supporting the university’s global ambitions.
