niversitas Islam Riau (UIR) recently welcomed a benchmarking visit from Universitas Adzkia (UA), Padang, West Sumatra, aimed at sharing best practices in internal quality assurance systems (SPMI) and management of research and community service. The activity took place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, at the Rectorate Building, UIR, and included leaders from both institutions.

The visit was accompanied by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and an Implementation Arrangement (IA) to formally strengthen cooperation between UIR and Universitas Adzkia. Representatives from UA expressed their appreciation for UIR’s achievements, including its Excellent accreditation and national recognitions.

In his remarks, the Rector of UIR emphasized UIR’s readiness to share experiences and collaborate with UA, particularly due to shared Islamic values in higher education. The benchmarking session was facilitated by the Office of International Cooperation and Affairs (BKUI) at UIR, focusing on improving institutional governance and enhancing national and international rankings.
