Three UIR Students Ready to Depart for Exchange Student Program to Germany Next Semester

Entering its third year, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) once again held an academic collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts under the auspices of DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Germany. The initiation of this third project was marked by the release of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issued by FH Dortmund some time ago.

The LoA, which confirms the acceptance of the three UIR students to participate in the student exchange program to Germany in the third project in the odd semester of 2024, includes Divana Rahma Wijaya from the International Relations Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), Sayid Ahmad Ghani Usnan from the Management Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and Muhammad Fairuz Lubis from the Law Program of the Faculty of Law. All three will attend classes during the summer semester from March to August 2024 for a full six months.

One of the three students accepted into the student exchange program, Divana Rahma Wijaya, expressed her joy to the UIR Public Relations Team on Monday (22/01/2024). She stated that she was very happy to be selected for the fully funded student exchange program this year after failing in 2023. She has great hopes of contributing significantly to UIR after completing this program.

Sayyid Ahmad Ghani Usnan from the Management Program also shared the same sentiment, experiencing nervousness during the university-level selection process. However, his nerves were relieved upon hearing the news that he was chosen as one of the UIR delegates in the upcoming project.

“I felt nervous because other participants who were equally competent influenced my self-confidence, but fortunately, my luck turned, and I passed the selection,” said Sayyid.

Furthermore, when interviewing M. Fairuz Alif Lubis, a student from the Law Program, regarding the preparation for the departure, he mentioned that he is still waiting for guidance from the university. He will continue to coordinate with other students to stay cohesive in preparing various necessities, including administrative requirements, accommodation, transportation, and curriculum adjustments for the courses during the semester in Germany.
