UIR Expands Global Academic Network Through Strategic Partnerships with Japanese Universities

Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) continues to strengthen its international partnerships by expanding cooperation with two leading universities in Japan, Nihon University and Chiba University. The collaboration was reinforced through an official visit by the UIR leadership to Japan on 21–24 June 2025.

The cooperation with Nihon University focuses on student admissions, academic exchanges, and joint activities in education, research, and community service, with plans to welcome Japanese students to UIR starting in 2026. Meanwhile, UIR and Chiba University have extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), covering several faculties and including student and lecturer exchange programs scheduled to begin in 2025.

This international collaboration is expected to enhance UIR’s global reputation and provide broader academic and cultural opportunities for its academic community.
