Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) has renewed its collaborative efforts with another higher education institution by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Karimun on Monday, 3 February 2025. The signing ceremony took place at the UIR campus and was led by Prof. Dr. Detri Karya, M.A., Director of the UIR Postgraduate Program, accompanied by UIR postgraduate leadership and the Head of Sub-International Cooperation and Affairs (BKUI), M. Irfan Rosyadi, S.E., M.E.
The cooperation aims to improve the quality of education and strengthen academic motivation and knowledge exchange between the two institutions. As an initial implementation of the partnership, a public lecture was held with the theme “Development of Karimun Regency as a Global Maritime Axis,” presented by Prof. Dr. Detri Karya, M.A., alongside Mey Krisselni Sitompul, M.M. The lecture emphasized the importance of human resource development in addition to infrastructure enhancement for regional growth.
The Head of Sub-BKUI UIR also expressed hope that this cooperation will bring tangible benefits to both institutions and the wider community, marking another step in strengthening academic partnerships and exchange of expertise.
